PROJECT CASE HISTORIES |
RONAYNE:DESIGNmuseum and exhibition design |

The Norman keep at Norwich has been the Citys museum for over a century. The need for refurbishment was acute, to preserve the fabric, to improve access and to interpret the collection. Our work comprised new lighting to enhance the
interpretation of the building itself, and new showcasing throughout. We also
devised historical settings, such as a prison and an Iron Age encampment, which
incorporated authentic exhibits as well as hands-on devices, videos and
interactive computers. Emphasis is placed on family-friendly and socially-inclusive design, e.g. a soft-play area and wheelchair accessible displays. |
